Peat, aged pine bark fines, perlite and lime.

Containers: Use in pots and planters with drainage holes. Add some mix to the bottom, place the plant at the same depth it was growing before, then fill around the root ball and press lightly. Water thoroughly after planting and allow excess water to drain.

Seed starting: Fill seed trays or small pots, plant according to the seed packet, gently water and keep the mix evenly moist during germination.

Indoor herbs & lettuce: A good choice when you want a light mix and the flexibility to choose the feeding program that fits your plants.

Each bag contains 1 cubic foot, or about 7.5 gallons of soil volume.

If your containers are labeled by gallons, add their total gallon capacity and divide by 7.5 to estimate bags needed. Round up if you are filling containers from empty.

A transplanted root ball takes up some space, so the actual amount of soil needed may be less.
