Vegetable Gardens, Annuals & Perennials Before planting: 5 lb per 100 sq ft. Mix into the top 3–5 inches of soil. A 9 lb bag covers approximately 180 sq ft at this rate. For established plants, apply between rows, keeping pellets about 3 inches away from stems. Reapply every 2–3 weeks as needed.

Containers Mix 1 part pellets to 20 parts potting soil. For measuring: 3 cups of pellets is approximately 1 lb.

Newly Planted Trees & Shrubs Apply 2 cups around the base after planting. Reapply 2 cups in early spring and 2 cups again midsummer. Keep pellets away from the trunk or stem.

Lawns Apply 30 lb per 3,000 sq ft. One 9 lb KKO bag covers approximately 900 sq ft at this rate. For a heavier late-fall application after aerating, use 30 lb per 1,500 sq ft, or about 450 sq ft per 9 lb bag.

After Applying Water after application or apply shortly before rainfall. Then return to the normal watering routine for the plants or lawn.
